The start of the second round of the PGA Championship was delayed after a pedestrian fatality Friday outside Valhalla Golf Club.

The incident occurred around 5 a.m. ET, when a shuttle bus struck a pedestrian. The man, later identified by the PGA of America as one of its vendors, died on the scene.

The incident led to a traffic shutdown. Not related to the fatality, Scottie Scheffler was arrested by police for not following police instructions during the jam.

The PGA of America released the following statement via social media:

“This morning we were devastated to learn that a worker with one of our vendors was tragically struck and killed by a shuttle bus outside Valhalla Golf Club. This is heartbreaking to all of us involved with the PGA Championship. We extend our sincere condolences to their family and loved ones.”

The start to Round 2 was delayed by one hour and 20 minutes and began at 8:35 a.m. ET.
